About us
AB Transistor, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, was established in 1953, leveraging the newly invented transistor component to pioneer innovative solutions.
We were early adopters of transistor-based hearing aids, a technology now ubiquitous. In the 1960s, we pioneered hearing loop systems, installing them in tens of thousands of locations. In the 1970s, we developed our first FM system for hard-of-hearing children, and in the 1990s, we set the standard for multiple microphone systems.
We were among the first to integrate alerting system functions into smartphones and to utilize speech-to-text technology to create new assistive listening devices. We also invented visual monitoring of hearing loops and have secured several patents for our groundbreaking solutions that have revolutionized the way people experience sound.
Our clientele includes hearing healthcare professionals and private individuals in Scandinavia. We also distribute our products through partners worldwide. Our offerings span individualized hearing solutions and public hearing solutions, making the world more accessible for those with hearing impairments.
